In-Depth Insights into Intermittent Hypoxia Training (IHHT/IHT)
This online module offers an in-depth exploration of the foundations and background of Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy (IHHT) and Intermittent Hypoxia Training (IHT). Additional topics are covered to provide a broader understanding of the method. The module consists of 16 learning units.
Participants will gain insights into:
the diverse physiological effects of hypoxic stimuli on the human body
different measurement and observation approaches discussed in research and application contexts
examples of typical curve patterns and their interpretation as a theoretical exercise
The focus is on general knowledge transfer and subject-specific orientation. This offering is intended for individuals who wish to expand their understanding of IHHT/IHT, without providing therapeutic instruction or qualification for practical application.
Note: This online offering is for informal educational purposes only. It does not provide therapeutic qualification, systematic application training, or any state-recognized certification.
Entry requirements:
There are no requirements.
Course contents
- The different levels of action of hypoxia and the adaptation of mitochondria, cells and organs
- Presentation of the most important transcription factors such as HIF-1-alpha, Nrf2, NF-kb
- The effect of hypoxia on the two most important metabolic pathways AMPK and mTOR
- The gene expression of HIF-1-alpha on e.g. EPO, VEGF, GLUT and IGF
- IHT in combination with CO2 treatments
- Standard protocols or customised settings? A consideration of the advantages and disadvantages
- Findings from science and practical experience on the most effective training settings
- Determining the training intensity on the basis of various tests (e.g. breath-hold test) and laboratory values
- Training planning for special patient groups (e.g. post-Covid, Lyme disease, elderly people)
- Using the training curve to recognise perfect training, incorrect dosage, influences and illnesses, for example
- Evaluation criteria and tests for effective IHT/IHHT

Includes free access to the HCC Academy monthly “Expert & User Workshop”
This monthly ZOOM session offers an open space for exchange, questions, and experience-sharing related to intermittent hypoxia training, photobiomodulation, CO₂ applications, and other health-related approaches.
The workshop is held in collaboration with Dr. Egor Egorov – on the last Monday of each month.
What to expect:
- Direct dialogue with Dr. Egorov on individual questions, experiences, and insights
- Input from current developments in practice, research, and applied knowledge
- Opportunity to connect with other participants
The workshop always takes place on the last Monday of the month. You will receive your personal registration link with the access to the online course "IHHT/IHT Coaching - Intensive Training" in the menu item "E&U Workshop".
